Rickie Fowler points out key difference after incredible change in PGA Tour fortunes
PGA Tour star Rickie Fowler didn’t have to reinvent his swing, change his putting style, or look to spiritual guidance to have success at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The biggest difference is that he simply finally feels healthy again.
According to Fowler, that was the difference behind his return to contention at the tournament on Spyglass Hill. After opening with a 6-under 66 and backing it up with an 8-under 64, Fowler sits in third place at 14-under through two rounds into the weekend and is in contention to walk away with a title.
Last season, Fowler battled through unbearable shoulder pain that had to be managed as best as possible. After clawing his way inside the top 50 in the FedExCup standings, the PGA standout took time off to rest, rehab, and reset. Meanwhile, another PGA Tour star literally grabbed the TV camera to hunt down his ball stuck in a tree during the same tournament.
