Victoria Beckham Shares How She and Husband David Get Through ‘Tough Times’: ‘We Always Put Our Children First’
Even amid her ongoing family drama, Victoria Beckham stands by her “children first” approach.
During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Tuesday, April 21, the 52-year-old fashion designer was asked about navigating her “pretty challenging year” with husband David Beckham.
“We always put our children first,” Victoria shared. “We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children, but we laugh a lot. David Beckham is really, super funny.”
The couple, who have been together for 30 years, share four children — sons Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14. After months of a rumored rift between Brooklyn and his parents, Brooklyn made headlines in January when he publicly condemned Victoria and David on social media, accusing them of putting the Beckham brand before their children.
While on the live morning show, Victoria was asked by co-host Jenna Bush Hager about how she handles the “tough times.” Bush Hager also acknowledged they had previously discussed some of her family’s struggles on the show.
“You know, myself and David, we’re so close and we have incredible people around us,” Victoria shared. “We’re close to my parents and David’s parents. We support each other through everything that we do.”
She added of her decades-spanning romance with the retired soccer star, “We’ve grown together. And that’s where I feel so blessed. We really have grown together. We support each other. We’ve both got big dreams. We’re both very, very ambitious and we support each other. I want him to be the best version of himself and that’s what he wants for me.”
